Why run a tune? The factory ECU calibration takes a lot into account; fuel economy, octane rating, reliability, etc. A new, more performance performance oriented map can dramatically improve the drive-ability, power band, and can tailor your car more to your driving style or goals. This is done through adjusting fueling, boost pressure, and engine timing.

OTS maps are not tailored to your specific car, rather its a map developed through JR's experience tuning the VB WRX platform and will improve the cars performance over the factory tune.
